HOSTING A GAME OF CHICKEN RUSH

Part 1

Planning a game

Important things to consider before your game

So you want to play Chicken Rush? That's a great idea.

Because we're helpful souls, here's a list below of important things you need to think about before your game.

Ideas for Challenges

Challenges are tasks that teams can complete while chasing the Chicken to earn points.

Once a challenge is completed, teams must send photo or video evidence via WhatsApp to a phone number of your choosing.

As they’ve arguably become the most popular part of the game, we have let players create up to 15 for each game.

So get your creative hat on and start coming up with some good ones!

Example Challenges

To get your creativity flowing, here are a couple of example Challenges you can use during the game:

Strike a Pose
Take a team photo imitating a famous landmark in the city

Silly Sing-Along
Record a video of your team singing a popular song in a public place

Meeting Point

We recommend finding a meeting point for the players in advance, ideally with the following features:

Indoor meeting point

  • Ensure that there’s enough space for all of your group
  • If a busy venue, make a reservation in advance
  • A microphone & speaker helps when making announcements

Outdoor meeting point

  • Small parks or quite side streets are great for larger groups
  • A megaphone helps for communicating to players
  • Keep an eye on nearby shelter if it starts to rain!

Final Venue

We recommend deciding on the hiding spot for the Chicken in advance.

The Chicken can move around mid-game, although we usually keep things simple with the Chicken heading straight to a predetermined venue.

Recommended features

  • It should resemble a bar or pub from the outside, with a clearly marked entrance.
  • The Chicken needs to be easily visible upon entry so that no teams miss them unfairly!
  • Optional reserving of private space to avoid disturbing others.
  • A microphone & PA system for announcing the results.
  • Try organise some entertainment like DJ sets, live music or karaoke.

Awards Ceremony

Once the game has ended and all teams have found the Chicken, it’s time to announce the results!

Try find some prizes to dish out, a wooden spoon for last place always goes down a treat.

Remember to keep the venue secret from the players. Our team has a rule where no one is allowed to say the name out loud to avoid potential disaster!

Customisation

Make your game “yours” with the following extra features:

Custom challenges

Get creative and come up with unique challenges for players.

At Glastonbury Festival we had tasks involving finding specific secret entrances to secret bars and constructing a Human Pyramid at the Pyramid Stage.

The only limits are your imagination with Challenges!

Custom map (upon request)

Extra markers, boundaries and shapes can be placed on the map which opens the door to many exciting things.

Imagine a “Riddle Master” placed on the map that teams can visit for a clue that helps find the Chicken’s hiding spot. Just a thought!

Branded Lobby (upon request)

Make it official by placing logos and other assets in the Lobby, which players join before the game starts.

Something more?

If you have any special requests or ideas, don’t be afraid to ask. We are a “fledgling” game and are always adding new features into the game to make your game extra special!
