Hey, it's Fred. I started Chicken Rush during the post-Covid hangover of 2022. Everyone's social routine had stalled and instead of an instant rebound, we saw a dangerously sluggish return to normality. Pubs were closing, our social circles had shrunk and one thing became clear - city-based life had got a little more lonely.
So I worked every weekend on this silly idea to bring a few friends together, running through the city in search of a “chicken.” What began as a sole attempt to make people laugh (and maybe feel a little less alone) has since turned into a nationwide movement.
I hosted our first hunt for 40 friends back in October 2022. We then did one for 60 a few months later. Then 100. Fast-forward to now, we've had epic hunts with 150 players every single month!
This December, The Great Santa Hunt brings that same spirit to life in the silliest way - a tonne of Santas racing through the streets, meeting strangers, making memories, and proving that even in the chaos, connection is what really matters.
And yes, it's totally free to come along.

How It Works

Gather at the meeting point
Come solo or with a group, we'll sort everyone into teams in advance, don't forget your Santa hat!

The Chicken is set loose
Our feathered friend will head off to hide in a nearby pub or bar

An extra special hunt
The search area is around 4km across, a little bigger than normal hunts

The Circle
A circle containing the Chicken's location is displayed on the map

The Shrink
During the game, this circle closes in on the hiding spot
"It's like Fortnite!"

Checking Venues
The Chicken will be hiding in a pub or bar somewhere in central London

Festive Challenges
Complete 20 different tasks as a team to gain points on the Leaderboard

You have two hours to find the Chicken, finding them first gets a lot of points
