Everything you need to know about the world of Chicken-hunting.
Put simply, someone dresses up as a chicken and hides in a pub or bar. Everyone else playing has to find the chicken, usually over two hours. A location tracker shows the area where the chicken is hiding, shrinking every two minutes over the course of the game. Teams gain points by either finding the Chicken first, or completing challenges that the Chicken judges while hiding. Most points at the end, wins.
If you're playing a Weapons game, various Nests appear on the map where items can be picked up to either sabotage other teams or help you find the Chicken faster.
Games start at Β£10/pp for the basic version or Β£15/pp for Chaos Mode. You can see our pricing on our Play page.
We also provide an optional In-person Host, a member of our team that introduces the game and runs your experience. This starts at Β£300 for a game in London.
You can play in any city in the world.
It's a brilliant experience in any pedestrian-friendly parts of the city with lots of potential hiding spots (we recommend pubs or bars). While the game was born in London, we've seen Chickens hunted all over the place - from Sydney to New York!
Yes! However, we've found teams rarely use it. A game area (the big out-of-bounds circle) is usually a max. 30-minute walk across, so teams don't need to cover that much ground and walking is enough.
Some groups like to start their game from a location outside of the game area (eg. an office) and then take a train / metro / tube into the game area during the early stages. It feels like going to war.
You can play almost any time anywhere. As most games usually involve hiding Chickens in pubs and bars, we recommend playing between 11am-9pm so that as many venues are open as possible.
The usual length is two hours. We can adapt the game to make it last between one and three hours, but we think two hours is best. We also recommend factoring in half an hour at the beginning and the end for the setup and debrief.
The game can be played with as few as 3 people (1 Chicken, 2 Hunters) - but we generally say 'the more the merrier'. Technically, the game has a limit at 1024 players, but our current record is just shy of 200 players.
There are up to 20 challenges in each game. Teams complete them and send in photos/videos. The Chicken then decides how many points they deserve while hiding. Examples include recreating an iconic album cover or hugging a stranger for 30 seconds.
All photos/videos are uploaded through our web app and scored in real-time.
The game starts at an agreed location which could be your office, a park, or a pub. We can help with booking pubs for the starting point.
At the start, the Chicken gets a five-minute head start to hide in a pub/bar.
During the hunt, the Chicken receives all challenge submissions, decides if they're worthy of points, and watches teams closing in on the map. It is not just sitting in a pub for 2 hours! We recommend more than one chicken so they donβt get lonely.
You decide! Usually the Stag, Hen, or Birthday person. We recommend having two Chickens hiding together if you have enough players. If you have an In-Person Host, they can step in as the Chicken if needed.
The role comes with a lot of power - they become quite 'brutal' with scoring. We encourage this.
If you book a Hosted event, we provide the costume. Otherwise, please source your own (Amazon/eBay have plenty). We recommend trousers or shorts under the costume for mobility!
The game continues! No game has ever been cancelled because of the weather. Pubs are warm and dry hiding spots.
Flexible! Rule of thumb: 4 players - 1 Chicken, 3 Chasers (solo) 20 players - 2 Chickens, 4 teams of 4/5 50 players - 2 Chickens, 8 teams of 6
A blue circle on the map shows the area where the chicken is hiding. Every two minutes, the blue circle shrinks - gradually revealing the hiding spot. Itβs similar to Fortnite or 'Battle Royale' games. Usually the Chicken gets found in the last 30 minutes.
No app store download needed. It runs in your browser. Players scan a QR code or follow a link to join the lobby. Super easy.
A member of our team meets you at the start, explains the game, provides the costume, and can even hide with the Chicken. They ensure everything runs smoothly so you can focus on the chaos.
The record is 58 minutes in a 2-hour game! But usually, teams find the chicken in the final 15 minutes. If found early, teams can still complete challenges for points until the time runs out.
We don't provide prizes but encourage you to! Examples: A custom crochet chicken, golden egg cups, or just the winning team's tab at the bar.
Absolutely. It's inclusive (walking, not running), encourages strategy and teamwork, and gets people talking. It's not your standard 'forced fun' activity. We've run games for Amazon, Google, and TikTok.
For corporate bookings, we can provide full VAT invoices. You can book via card online, or contact us to pay via bank transfer/PO number for larger amounts.
Yes! As long as your office is near a suitable game area (pedestrian friendly, with some pubs/cafes). We often start games in office meeting rooms and then head out onto the streets.
For corporate groups over 20 people, we highly recommend our Hosted Package. Our Event Manager handles the briefing, tech setup, and wrap-up, making it completely stress-free for the organiser.
The game works perfectly without alcohol. While the Chicken often hides in a pub, teams don't have to drink. We can also adapt the game to use cafes, parks, or landmarks as hiding spots/checkpoints if you prefer a 'dry' event.
We can host groups from 8 to 500+ players simultaneously. For very large groups, we deploy multiple Hosts and split the game into 'Divisions' to keep it competitive.
We recommend teams dress for the weather. However, if it's torrential, we can delay the start or teams can strategize in cafes/pubs. We're British - a bit of rain adds to the drama!
No. It's a strategy game that involves walking. Running is optional (and honestly, usually tactical suicide). We've had teams of all ages and fitness levels play and win.
Yes, for our Enterprise/Bespoke packages, we can customise the game interface with your company logo and create custom challenges relevant to your business or industry values.
Someone (or our Host) dresses as a Chicken. Teams hunt them using GPS, while completing challenges and sending photo & video evidence. It's a high-tech scavenger hunt mixed with hide & seek.
Typically 2 hours, plus 15-min briefing and 15-min wrap-up/awards. We can compress this to 90 mins if you have a tight schedule.
No downloads. It runs in the mobile browser. We just send a link/QR code.
